EarthLink Email in Outlook 365: Setup

To add EarthLink email to Outlook 365, start Outlook’s add-account flow, enter your full EarthLink email address and password, and let Outlook try automatic setup. If Outlook requests manual details, EarthLink’s current default is IMAP incoming mail with SSL/TLS and authenticated SMTP outgoing mail with STARTTLS.

Start with Outlook’s automatic setup

1. Open Outlook and start the option to add an email account.
2. Enter the full EarthLink email address.
3. Follow Outlook’s prompts and enter the mailbox password in the mail client.
4. Allow Outlook to verify the connection. The menu labels can vary between Outlook versions.

EarthLink’s Outlook 365 guide describes this automatic path. If Outlook cannot confirm the account settings, choose manual configuration and use the values below.

Manual EarthLink IMAP and SMTP settings

IMAP keeps messages synchronized between WebMail and other IMAP clients. EarthLink also documents POP3, but its incoming server depends on the email domain; POP may download messages from the server. If you choose POP and need messages to remain in WebMail, look for the mail app’s “leave a copy on the server” setting.

Keep your password safe

Enter a password only in Outlook’s account setup or on an official EarthLink page. This guide does not provide an EarthLink login form. If the password is rejected, recover it through EarthLink’s official WebMail or Account Portal rather than sharing it in a comment or support message.
